Universiti Teknologi Malaysia will be colloborating with Amperscend Sdn Bhd in a joint project to commercialize the Intangible Ecosystem (IP.Eco) project. With this colloboration, UTM will be providing experts and share best practices in managing intellectual assets from a institute of higher learning's perspective.

The exchange of documents will be held in conjuction with the launch of the Intellectual Property Commercialisation Policy and MyMDana by Y.B. Datuk Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili, the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation on the 22 June 2009 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre at 8.30am.

IP.Eco is a software solution which enables organizations to manage and monetize their intellectual assets. It encompasses the entire workflow of IP from idea generation, product lifecycle development, IP protection, IP valuation, portfolio management and valuation as well as business intelligence to assist in various reporting functionality. The solution is based on the Microsoft .Net Platform, leveraging on the Windows Presentation Foundation technology. The solution can be customized for research institutions, universities, organizations, SMEs and technology based companies.
